Note: Fig. 1 presents the Kaplan-Meier curves for the recurrent symptom risk function among patients with KOA, grouped according to four different covariates. The results showed that the difference in K-M curves was statistically significant only when grouped by alcohol consumption (Log-Rank test: \(\:{\chi\:}^{2}=15.7,P<0.0001\)). And the results of the Log-Rank test comparing survival curves among patients grouped by other covariates are presented as follows, with overweight (\(\:{\chi\:}^{2}=3.22,P=0.073\)), surgery (\(\:{\chi\:}^{2}=0.36,P=0.544\)) and glucocorticoids (\(\:{\chi\:}^{2}=0.98,P=0.321\))
